Artists' Biographies

Mary Ann Hill

Mary Ann Hill, Soprano

Mary Ann received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Syracuse University, where she studied both piano and voice. Her post-graduate studies have taken her to Europe, where she has also performed. As a soprano soloist, Mary Ann has sung in classic opera, including the leads in La Boheme, Cavalliera Rusticana, and Cosi fan Tutti. In addition, she has sung soprano roles in American musicals in New York City, including The Music Man and Guys and Dolls. May Ann continues to be actively engaged in theater, opera, and recital. She is a past president of The Pro-Mozart Society of Atlanta.

Barbara Zellner

Barbara Zellner, Soprano

Barbara Zellner has performed with international orchestras, regional and national opera companies, and regional theatre. As part of the Cultural Olympiad of Atlanta, she was featured as The Other Woman in James Oliverio's World Premier of Starchild the Opera, presented live on the worldwide web and recorded for broadcast on PBS. Ms. Zellner studied at Shorter College and holds a Bachelor's Degree from Georgia State University where she studied with the late Peter Harrower. Postgraduate work has been in Salzburg with the University of Miami's Voice Department and in Chiari, Italy at the International Institute of Vocal Arts.

Maria McDaniel

Maria McDaniel, Mezzo-soprano

Maria McDaniel received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Millikin University in Decatur, Il. She has performed in numerous opera scenes and choruses. Full roles include Angelina in Trial by Jury, Giannetta in Elixir of Love, Elmire in Tartuffe, Miss Todd in The Old Maid and Thief, and Nancy in Albert Herring. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree under Dwight Coleman at Georgia State University, and serves as a graduate assistant. She also serves as staff soloist and alto section leader at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.

Madonna Brownlee

Madonna Brownlee, Organist

Madonna Brownlee, an accomplished organist, received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University. Her post-graduate work included studies in the Union Theological Seminary's School of Sacred Music, Florida International University, and the University of South Florida. Madonna has presented numerous recitals and served as an accomplished organist for a broad spectrum of organizations and churches throughout Indiana, Georgia, and Florida as well as in Austria. Madonna is currently serving as organist at the First Church of Christ Scientist in Atlanta. Through the years, Madonna has held a number of offices in The Pro-Mozart Society of Atlanta.

Nancy Boyd Dickson

Nancy Boyd Dickson, Pianist

Nancy Boyd Dickson earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Organ Performance from Augusta State University where she studied with Dr. John Schaeffer. She did post-graduate studies with Keith Shafer of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Augusta, Georgia. She has served as a church organist in Episcopal, Methodist, and Lutheran churches for thirty years. She currently serves as Chapel Organist and Substitute Cathedral organist at the Cathedral of St. Phillip (Episcopal) in Atlanta and is employed full-time as an accountant with a local insurance company.

Andrew Bayles

Andrew Bayles, Pianist

Andrew Bayles is a director, accompanist, concert pianist, and an opera singer. His undergraduate degree is from Millikin University where he received a degree in Vocal Performance. He is pursuing a double Master's Degree in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting at Georgia State University.

Andrew's most recent concert solo piano performances include playing Alban Berg's piano Sonata No. 1 at Millikin University as well as Rachmaninoff's First Piano Concerto. This summer Andrew was faculty accompanist for La Musica Kirica Program in Novafeltria, Italy.

He also works as an accompanist for the Georgia State University School of Music.
